Biography
Training Style
“I drill in the morning, then I do bag work. I’ll go home, get something to eat, go for a run. I come back and do a class and do live grappling.”
Dave trains at Minnesota Combat Arts in Forest Lake, Minnesota with Guth Miller, Greg Wikan, Randy Erdman, Brian Campbell (stand up trainer), Shane Swanson, Tony Enhrighter, Kevin Hogie.
“Basically right now, I try to lift every day. Get some road work in. An hour or more of pad work. Half hour to forty five minutes of drilling. Try to get anywhere from 4 to 6 hours in. Then, if it goes above that, it’s a little less intensive. Shadow-boxing and some other things likes that. But, the strenuous stuff is the lifting, drills, and the padwork.”
More Information
“I wrestled for years. I wrecked my arm wrestling in college. I didn’t do anything for a year then I moved out to Santa Fe and I started doing some stick work and Muay Thai. I did a little grappling there. I went back to Minnesota and I started doing submission grappling and Muay Thai there. I was always good on the ground and I took off pretty quickly after I started training in submissions. I did a Muay Thai fight after about 3 months of training and I did a NHB fight about 6 months after. By nature I’m a pretty competitive person.”
