Biography

Training: Monday through Friday I train at 11 or 12 in the afternoon. This is hard, intense training, usually sparring, MMA, kickboxing, wrestling, or BJJ.  I then usually go home, rest, then go train at night around 6 or 7. This is usually Drilling, Striking Technique, Running, but not hard sparring. My coaches Liborio, Parrumpina, Katel, and Kami all collaborated on the game plan. Watch for the overhand right, leg locks, etc. We broke his game down pretty well. Lately once or twice a week Brad Pickett and I have been playing basketball. It's been fun, it's our under 5'6" league.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in MMA back in 95. In 2000 my college roommate and I read a post on the UG forum looking for fighters in Boston. My roommate (Gunnar Olson) said “hey let’s try this thing out.” One fight led to another and another.

What ranks and titles have you held? Former WEC Featherweight Champion, Absolute Fighting Featherweight Champion and Fightzone Featherweight Champion

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? In 2000 I graduated from Norwich University with a BS in Biology.

What motivates you? Well, winning is pretty damn important, but to train hard for a fight I don’t need motivation. There is a lot on the line: money, ego, and your health!
