Biography
Training: I train about 4 to 6 hrs every day, 6 days a week. Typically, I start with a warm up, followed by some technique and drills, then finish off with sparring. I also have conditioning days that focus on explosiveness and keeping my heart rate high. It's pretty intense but it pays off.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I'm always training and was already training for a fight before I got the offer to fight Haskins. I turned pro in 2007 because I love the competition.
What ranks and titles have you held? Former Sportfight Welterweight Champion.
Do you have any heroes? Roy Pittman
What is your favorite technique? All aspects of Ground and Pound
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means a lot. I'm really thankful for the opportunity. I think this is a huge step in the right direction for me. I'm excited to be in the show and hope to put on an exciting fight for the fans.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Went to Portland State University. No degree.
What was your job before you started fighting? I was a Union Carpenter worker. The biggest project I was a part of was the OHSU Tram that spans across Portland's OHSU campuses. It was a lot of fun and a really unique project to be a part of.
