Biography

TRAINING: Monday to Friday - 11am to 2pm at the dojo with my sister, hitting pads, doing weights. Monday to Saturday - 6:30pm to 10:30pm sparring at Hakushinkai Karate dojo.

When and why did you start training for fighting? When I was seven, my parents told me to do some extracurricular activity. I wanted to be strong, therefore I picked martial arts.

Do you have any heroes? I don't have a specific hero but my goal is to become like UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? Ever since when I was a child, I was told that I am going to UFC, so it has been my goal to get to UFC. So, right now, I feel like I am standing on the new start line.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No, I only graduated from high school.

What was your job before you started fighting? I work part-time at Seven-Eleven, but before that I never had a job. Just school and martial arts training.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? It’s kickboxing, but I won J-Network's All-Japan amateur championships more than a few times.

Specific accomplishments in pro competition? I won DEEP Future King (rookie) tournament in 2011.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: I am a first-degree black belt in karate and a blue belt in BJJ.
