Scott Junk
It wasn’t until after his football career was over that Junk had any interest in mixed martial arts. He was introduced to the UFC® in 2005 and immediately fell in love with its required blend of athleticism and technical prowess. He trained with many mixed martial arts teams, including BJ Penn’s group, before settling down with Team MMA Development. In 2007, Junk made his UFC® debut, taking a fight with Christian Wellisch on less than two weeks notice at UFC 76 in Anaheim. He lost that bout due to a heel hook in the first round and ever since, Junk has been eager to make his return to the Octagon™. Junk is married with a six year old child and supports his family by working the graveyard shift doing sewage line construction in Hawaii. His profession has conditioned him for the hours of training he will need to endure in order to become “The Ultimate Fighter.”
