TRAINING: After I wake up in the morning, I like to go for a swim. I always get in some shadow boxing for about five rounds right after my swim. After swimming, I head in to work at my father’s gym. Being at the gym all day gives me an opportunity to lift weights and do some cardio in between training clients. A couple of my clients are training to be fighters so it’s always nice to get in extra rounds with them before I go train with my coaches in the afternoon. Depending on the day of the week, I’ll practice BJJ, Kickboxing or Boxing with them. For me, a huge part of training is my diet. I always try and eat healthy, even when I’m not preparing for a fight. I try and have a couple of protein shakes mixed in between 4 or 5 high protein, low-carb meals each day. PROFESSIONAL

Thoughts on opponent, Don’Tale Mayes? He seems to be a decent boxer with a definite reach advantage. I predict it will be a tough fight, but one I plan on winning.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started fighting for fun in 2012. It quickly turned into more than a hobby and something I was really enjoying. I captured some fun wins and a couple of titles and I decided to pursue it on a bigger level in hopes it would lead to greater things for me.

What ranks and titles have you held? Battle in the South Heavyweight Champion, King of Jacksonville Heavyweight Champion, and I am currently the Next Level Fight Club undefeated Heavyweight Champion

Do you have any heroes? My father is my hero. With just a high school degree, he started his own business and has been very successful. He has always taught me to follow my dreams.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? Fighting in the UFC would be an opportunity of a lifetime. I would be honored and most humbled to fight on the biggest MMA stage in the world. When given this ultimate opportunity, it will allow me the chance to showcase my talents and provide a better life for my family.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I attended some college

What was your job before you started fighting? I currently manage my father's fitness facility. I was recently accepted as an Orange County, North Carolina rural fireman.
