Biography
TRAINING: Go for a jog early in the morning, drive to the gym, grapple for a few
hrs, break for a bit to get some food/rest and start back up with stand up for a few hrs. Break for a bit, start up again with MMA. My day of training is about 7 hrs all together.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started fighting/training in 1993 - I starting fighting because I love the competition.
What ranks and titles have you held? KOTC lightweight world champion
Do you have any heroes? My father, Felix Valencia
What is your favorite technique? Anything that works!
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream come true and an honor. I never thought that being as light as I am that I’d have the opportunity to fight in the UFC. It’s just incredible.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? East Los Angeles Community College, Fresno State University. I did not receive a degree.
What was your job before you started fighting? Salesman for Anheuser Busch
