Biography

TRAINING: A typical day of training is two hours of MMA-related training with my team at Revolution, followed by some S&C in the afternoon and typically pad work in the evenings.

Thoughts on opponent, Kyle Bochniak? I think he is a tough opponent, but I don't see anywhere where he is better than me. I think I'll be too big for him and he won't be able to handle the pace I put on him.

Thoughts on opponent, Rony Jason? Awesome fight for me. He's a proven veteran in the UFC with eight fights and he’s the winner of TUF Brazil. It’s a great way to introduce myself into the division.
When and why did you start training for fighting? When I was 13 years old I started in BJJ & boxing because I enjoyed watching the early UFC events. After winning local tournaments I transitioned into full MMA training & competitions.

What ranks and titles have you held? Battlefield Fight League Pro FW champion

Do you have any heroes? BJ Penn, Bibiano Fernandes, Nate Diaz.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? A dream come true. Every hour spent in the gym is paying off and I have the financial stability to do this for a living. This is the goal I set out to achieve 10 years ago.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No

What was your job before you started fighting? Plumber & Martial Arts instructor

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? 8-1 amateur record, BFL amateur featherweight champion, Hardknocks amateur bantamweight champion

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Pro Muay Thai 1-0, BJJ Purple belt under Bibiano Fernandes, NAGA Portland champion.

Favorite grappling technique: Any head & arm choke (i.e. D’arce / arm triangle / neckties)

Favorite Striking technique: Check hook & clinch elbows

• Pro since 2013

• Two first round finishes

• Three wins by KO, two by submission (RNC, Peruvian Necktie)
