UFC 122 Live on Fuel TV

PLUS WORLDWIDE EXCLUSIVE BROADCAST OF AUSSIE KYLE NOKE’S CLASH WITH ROB KIMMONS
Sydney, Australia – A shot at the UFC middleweight championship is at stake on Sunday, November 14, as contenders Nate 'The Great' Marquardt and Yushin Okami collide in Oberhausen, Germany, to decide the division's next challenger.  The middleweight pair headline UFC 122, which will be broadcast on FUEL TV, live on Sunday, November 14 at 6:00am AEDST, with full replays at 11.30am, 4.30pm and 9.30pm.

Plus, in a worldwide exclusive for Aussie fight fans, FUEL TV will screen the bout between Australian middleweight Kyle Noke and American Rob “The Rosedale Reaper” Kimmons.

Born in Dubbo, NSW, Kyle Noke grew up playing basketball and rugby and now lives on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, when he’s not in training camp in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.  He currently boasts 17 wins to 4 losses on his fight résumé, including victories over George Sotiropoulos and Kyacey Uscola.

Before becoming a professional fighter, Noke worked as a security officer for perhaps Australia’s most famous UFC fan, the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin.  Irwin trained in mixed martial arts recreationally, and wanted to add another mixed martial artist to his security team so he would have more training partners on the road.

UFC Managing Director of International Development Marshall Zelaznik said: “We’re delighted to have been able to work with FUEL TV to ensure Australian fans get to see Kyle in his next UFC bout. Kyle had an impressive win in his last appearance in the Octagon against fellow The Ultimate Fighter cast mate, Josh Bryant, and I’ve no doubt he’ll do Australia proud in his showdown against Kimmons at UFC 122.”

Adam Howarth, FUEL TV Channel Manager, added: “The UFC is extremely popular with FUEL TV subscribers and we are absolutely rapped to be able to provide one of the premium UFC events LIVE on our channel.

“These events are usually only available on pay-per-view and are watched by millions of fans around the world, so to have this content available on FUEL TV is a major bonus for our UFC tragics.”

Howarth said FUEL TV viewers had built a strong rapport with Australian fighter Kyle Noke through his performances in The Ultimate Fighter series 11.

“Kyle Noke is a wonderful fighter and he’s also a tremendous bloke. He won a lot of fans during The Ultimate Fighter and it’s great that he’s been included on the undercard for UFC 122.

“Our viewers will get right behind Kyle and will settle in for what should be an epic battle between Marquardt and Okami.”

Also on the card for UFC 122 are middleweights Alessio Sakara and Jorge Rivera who will meet in the co-main event of the event.  With both men coming off three back-to-back wins, the victor is assured bigger opportunities in 2011.

The same could be said about the light heavyweight clash between Krzysztof Soszynski and Goran Reljic. Both fighters are renowned for being adept at both striking and grappling, and a pure example of mixed martial arts should be expected when Soszysnki and Reljic meet in Oberhausen.

Winner of season seven of The Ultimate Fighter, Amir Sadollah makes his debut in mainland Europe on November 14, when he meets local favourite Peter Sobotta, a native of Balingen, Germany.  Meanwhile, veteran American wrestler Jason Brilz also appears in Europe for the first time in his career, as he meets Vladimir Matyushenko at light heavyweight.

UFC 122 is the first UFC event to take place in Germany since the world’s premier combat sports organisation made its mainland Europe debut in Cologne last June.
