Once rivals, Anthony Pettis and Cowboy Cerrone train together

Former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone haven't always seen eye-to-eye.

The rivalry has spanned two organizations - UFC and WEC - and was mainly borne out of the desire to be the best at 155 pounds.

But recently, the two top contenders appear to be getting along. After spending time together at a recent USO event, Pettis and Cowboy took their newfound friendship to the next level on Tuesday in Albuquerque:

They fought.

That's right, Pettis and Cowboy shut down the gym at Team Jackson/Winklejohn while the two sparred five rounds for a very interested audience.

Both Pettis and Cerrone, who recently made the move up to 170 pounds, have their next scheduled assignments. Pettis faces Edson Barboza on April 23 at UFC 197, while Cerrone battles longtime UFC veteran Patrick Cote in a welterweight scrap at Fight Night Ottawa on June 18.
