Gonzaga Aims to Stop Mitrione Streak in Phoenix

With two consecutive first round knockouts in the books, Matt Mitrione will seek a third straight win in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, December 13, as he meets veteran heavyweight contender Gabriel Gonzaga in a match at US Airways Center.

The former Ultimate Fighter competitor has rebounded in style from a 1-3 stretch in 2011-13, knocking out Shawn Jordan and Derrick Lewis to improve to 8-3. Brazil’s Gonzaga is as tough and crafty as they come though, and with wins in two of his last three, he will be a tough out for the hard-hitting Mitrione.
