Jones, Sonnen Get TUF Assignment, April Fight Date

The war between UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and longtime contender Chael Sonnen began on Twitter, but UFC president Dana White revealed on Tuesday that it will end in the Octagon, as the two rivals will compete as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter's 17th season and then face each other in an April bout at a site to be determined.

White broke the news today to Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times.

Originally scheduled to make his return to 205 pounds against Forrest Griffin this December at UFC 155, Sonnen will now begin filming TUF 17 later this month. Jones, nursing an arm injury suffered in his UFC 152 win over Vitor Belfort, will also be on the sidelines until the Sonnen bout in April.
