Mendes vs. Lamas Headlines in Fairfax on April 4

Two of the best featherweights in the world will attempt to make their case for a shot at the 145-pound crown on Saturday, April 4, when former world title challengers Chad “Money” Mendes and Ricardo “The Bully” Lamas meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

The bout will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 at 1pm ET.

Also announced for the event will be intriguing lightweight bouts pitting Jorge Masvidal against Bobby Green, Dustin Poirier vs. Diego Ferreira, and Michael Chiesa vs. Mitch Clarke, as well as a heavyweight matchup between Octagon newcomers Timothy Johnson and Shamil Abdurahimov.

Fresh from an epic five-rounder with Jose Aldo in their October 2014 rematch, Sacramento’s Mendes is eager to start another winning streak against fellow featherweight star Lamas, who has won two straight since his bout with Aldo in February of 2014, defeating Hacran Dias and Dennis Bermudez.

Tickets go on sale on February 11. Stay tuned to UFC.com for more information and fight card announcements.
