Poirier Heading to NOLA to Face Medeiros

Fresh from a successful return to the lightweight division last Saturday in Fairfax, Dustin Poirier will get a return home to Louisiana on June 6 when he meets Yancy Medeiros at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Tickets for UFC Fight Night, which is headlined by the light heavyweight matchup between Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader, go on sale on Friday, April 10. The card will air live on FOX Sports 1.

Poirier, a Lafayette native, tore through Diego Ferreira in his first 155-pound bout since 2010, scoring an opening round knockout, and now he will fight in his home state for the first time in five years against Hawaii's Medeiros, who has won two straight, earning Performance of the Night bonuses in each victory over Damon Jackson and Joe Proctor.
