Velasquez vs. Werdum Set for June 13 in Mexico City

The long-awaited UFC heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and interim titleholder Fabricio Werdum has a new date, as the Mexico City Arena will host the UFC 188 main event on Saturday, June 13.

The bout was originally scheduled to take place in the same venue last November before Velasquez was forced to withdraw due to injury. In Velasquez' absence, Brazil's Werdum won the interim belt with a knockout of Mark Hunt. In June, the two best heavyweights in the game will finally meet.
