Young to make UFC debut against Volkanovski in Sydney

Despite losing opponents Jeremy Kennedy and Humberto Bandenay due to injury, Australian prospect Alexander Volkanovski will be in action this weekend in Sydney, as New Zealander Shane Young has stepped up for the UFC Fight Night bout at Qudos Bank Arena.

Auckland's Young, 11-3 as a pro, brings a five-fight winning streak into his Octagon debut against Windang's Volkanovski, who has won 12 straight, including two UFC bouts against Yusuke Kasuya and Mizuto Hirota, leading up to this weekend's matchup, which will be contested at a catchweight of 150 pounds.

The UFC Fight Night card, which is headlined by the heavyweight bout between Fabricio Werdum and Marcin Tybura, airs live on FS1.
