Champs McGregor, Alvarez to battle in NYC

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will go up to 155 pounds to challenge lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, attempting to become the first-ever simultaneous two-weight world champion in the biggest event in UFC history.

The headliner is the third title fight to hit the Big Apple in the UFC¹s first show in New York State.
 


McGregor will retain his featherweight title through UFC 205. McGregor arrives in New York at 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday to take part in a can¹t-miss UFC 205 pre-fight press conference which will be streamed live on UFC.com at 6 p.m. EDT. Alvarez, Tyron Woodley, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be in attendance to kick things off.

Tickets go on sale for UFC 205 Friday.
