UFC Announce Netherlands Broadcast Partnership

 

London, UK – UFC®EMEA today announced a broadcast partnership with  Dutch media enterprise Eredivisie Media & Marketing which will see the company air UFC events in the Netherlands on its premium channel FOX Sports and digital basic tier channel FOX.

FOX Sports will air many UFC events with the original live feed and US commentary, while a number of events will be scheduled to air at accessible Dutch times on FOX, with local studio programming, guests and commentary.

The agreement, which lasts for two years, will kick off with UFC Unleashed on FOX Sports on March 9, while the incredibly successful The Ultimate Fighter will be shown as a weekly show on FOX as of March 21.

The first live event on FOX Sports will be UFC 185 from Dallas, Texas March 14. This highly anticipated event features a lightweight title fight between division kingpin Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis and Rafael dos Anjos, while Carla ‘Cookie Monster’ Esparza defends her strawweight belt for the first time against Polish Joanna Jedrzejczyk who has the chance to be the first female European title holder.

Two Dutch UFC fighters also feature on the card Alistair ‘The Reem’ Overeem (38-14-0) takes on Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson. While Germaine ‘The Iron Lady’ de Randamie (4-3-0) steps into the Octagon against Larissa Pacheco.

The first live event on FOX will be UFC® FIGHT NIGHT GONZAGA vs CRO COP 2. on 11 April from Krakow, Poland. After a three year absence, legend Mirko “Cro Cop”Filipovic will return to the Octagon® in Krakow to meet Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga in the five round heavyweight headline event, while Jan Blachowiczreturns home to Poland to face Jimi ‘Poster Boy’ Manuwa in a co-main event clash with big implications for the 205 lb. class.
